Lexington R-V students in need of school supplies for the upcoming year have the opportunity to receive a backpack full of them during a giveaway at Tuesday night’s events during the Lexington Community Fair.

The giveaway will begin at 6 p.m. at Main Street Park and is part of an evening of events focused on the city’s youth, according to Deb Bagley of the Lexington Community Fair.

Kids can also take part in “The Foam Zone” next to Second Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. while the Lexington Art Council will offer a summer craft kit to go beginning at 5:30 p.m. Pony rides are also available for a fee beginning at 5 p.m.

Visitors to this year’s fair also have an opportunity to cast their votes for a light pole banner that best exemplifies the fair’s theme, “Shades of Summer Fun”.
