Serious injuries were reported for a Versailles man whose pickup went off a Pettis County highway Monday, Aug. 11.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 69-year-old was driving south on Route M about eight miles southeast of Sedalia, when at 3:50 p.m. at the intersection with Van Dyke Road, the man swerved his pickup to avoid hitting a deer. His truck went off the roadway, struck a fence and overturned. He was flown to a Columbia hospital.
