Both the Glasgow Board of Aldermen and Glasgow Police Department are back to full strength following a series of swearing-in ceremonies at their board meeting Monday, Aug. 11.

Mayor Donald Clear tells KMMO News that the board accepted his recommendation that Ryan Roberts be appointed to the vacant position of South Ward Aldermen. Clear adds that Roberts already proved himself to be, “an amazing addition to the board”, asking a number of questions throughout Monday’s meeting. Aldermen also formally swore in TJ Livermore as the new police chief and Aimee Vogt as a new police officer.

The board also accepted the lone bid received for replacing the entrance to City Hall. JB Glass of Moberly will perform the work for $8350. Also Monday, the board approved drafting a liability waiver that would allow the Senior Center to use volunteer labor to paint the exterior of their building.

Clear also announced that pouring of the new deck for the Industrial Avenue bridge is expected to take place Friday, around the time that Governor Mike Kehoe is scheduled to visit Monnig Industries to celebrate the Glasgow company’s 65th anniversary and dedication of a new building at their headquarters.
