The Marshall High School Football program has been hitting the gridiron this week, preparing for the start of the 2025 fall season.
Owls Head Football Coach Ian Verts says the team had strong participation in both the weight room and at team camps this summer. Official practices began Monday, with the team preparing for the California Jamboree on Friday, August 22. Verts says his coaching staff has been focusing on more than just the fundamentals with these practices.
The Owls finished the 2024 season with a 1-9 record, ending the season with a 43-0 loss to Warrensburg in the Class 4 State Tournament. Verts says he’s optimistic about what the Owls can do this season, and is excited to see his team take the field in a few weeks.
Marshall will play six of its nine regular season games at home in 2025. The season kicks off on August 29, when the Owls host the Chillicothe Hornets at 7 p.m.
