
The fourth Show-Me Shoot Out supreme champion drive at the Missouri State Fair on Saturday night concluded the beef cattle contests, as a heifer from Amity earned top honors.

The Hereford named “Marbles” was exhibited by Madelyn Thompson of the Plattsburg Hustlers 4-H Club and picked up the nod from the panel of three judges in the historic State Fair Coliseum.

Thompson earned her spot in the shoot-out by winning the Hereford show during the first weekend of the fair. She was followed into the showring Saturday by the reserve Hereford, shown by her sister Brynlee. Thompson said she was thrilled to share the experience with her.
In addition to the $2500 top prize, Thompson earned an additional $1000 for having the top heifer that was bred and born in Missouri.


Reserve Overall Champion went to the Simmental exhibited by Abbi Britton of the Saxony Lutheran FFA Chapter in Cape Girardeau County.

Jace Pipkin of Republic had the third-place heifer, an Angus.

The reserve champion Simmental heifer, shown by Mallorie Yokley of Nevada, finished fourth.

BeauAnn Graves of Chillicothe rounded out the top five with her Mainetainer.
