Red and white crosswalks will soon appear around the courthouse square in Carrollton.
The Carrollton Town Council approved the request Monday, Aug. 18 from My Hometown to paint the pavement markings on the city streets around the Carroll County Courthouse. Mayor Keith Higgins tells KMMO News that crews will install the crosswalks early next week.
The Town Council also approved three other items on Monday night’s agenda. The Carrollton Shrine Club received approval from the city to sell liquor at Bounty Fest at Walnut Hills the evening of Sept. 13, provided they complete required paperwork with the state. The council also approved the use of a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant for new tennis courts. The grant is a 50/50 cost share up to $250,000. The council also agreed to a three month lease allowing C-Com to park equipment on the vacant lot near Old Places on South Main during a construction project.
Because of the Labor Day holiday, the Carrollton Town Council will next meet Tuesday, Sept. 2.
