The Missouri Department of Transportation has officially announced the reopening of the Lemon Trail bridge over Interstate 70.
The bridge near mile marker 81.6, three miles east of the Marshall Junction, was removed in January after it was struck several times by traffic on I-70 and was scheduled for replacement.
With the Lemon Trail bridge now open, crews will turn their attention to replacing the Nitrogen Avenue bridge near mile marker 85.8. When the second bridge project is underway, traffic needing to access Nitrogen Avenue south of the interstate will use a temporary offramp from eastbound I-70, while anyone traveling westbound on I-70 will need to detour via Route J. The new Nitrogen Avenue bridge is slated for completion before the end of 2026.
