A two-vehicle collision Thursday, Aug. 21 on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 sent a Parkville man to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash just inside Saline County at the 86.6 mile marker around 9:15 p.m. Thursday, after troopers say a car driven by a 43-year-old woman from Warsaw struck the rear of an SUV driven by a 58-year-old man from Parkville. The SUV went into the median, striking the cable barrier and overturning, while the other vehicle went off the right side of the highway and came to rest in the ditch. No injuries were reported for either driver; however, a passenger in the SUV, another 58-year-old man from Parkville, sustained serious injury and was taken to a Columbia hospital.
