UPDATE: The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri Highway Patrol were dispatched to the crash. While enroute, officers were advised the incident involved a road rage incident and shots had been fired. Upon further investigation, it was determined the suspect vehicle fled the scene. The ongoing investigation will be completed by the Missouri Highway Patrol. At this time there is no danger to the community.

Traffic delays were in effect on Westbound Interstate-70 near the Marshall Junction as personnel respond to a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.

The impact was first reported at 1:04 p.m. The right lane of the highway was closed near Exit 78B onto U.S. Highway 65 leading to delays.
