Three men were taken to area hospitals after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on a Carroll County roadway.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a semi truck driven by a 32-year-old Slater man was heading west on County Road 244, west of County Road 381 in the De Witt area. Troopers report that an eastbound pickup driven by a 61-year-old man from De Witt attempted to avoid the semi by going off the right side of the road, but the two vehicles collided around 1:45 p.m. The Slater driver sustained moderate injury and was taken to a Kansas City area hospital for treatment. A passenger in the semi and the pickup’s driver were both treated for minor injuries in Marshall.
Troopers say that none of the three men involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
