The Pettis County Commission voted to set the General Revenue Levy at $.0900 per $100 assessed value, below the maximum allowable levy for the upcoming year.
Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza says the commission purposely decided to keep the tax rate below the maximum in an effort to limit the financial burden on tax payers.
The rates were set $.0900 for General Revenue, $.2874 for Road and Bridge, $.0708 for Developmentally Disabled, and $.0070 for Johnson Grass. Baeza explains that all three commissioners were in agreement when setting the rate.
The rate was approved during the commission session on Thursday, August 28.
