The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved a real estate contract to give the Robertson Memorial Library additional activity space for future programs.

The contract was the lone action items on the agenda for the board’s September 2nd meeting. City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says the board approved the purchase of the building, which is located near the library.

The purchase price of $130,000 was approved by the board. Dobson says the city hopes to complete the transaction this month. Some remodeling work will also need to be complete before it can be used by the library.

The board also discussed the annual Duck Blind drawing, which will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 11 in the City Hall Auditorium. The drawing is only open to Higginsville residents.
