A Stover man sustained serious injury after losing control of his motorcycle on a Northern Missouri highway Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the 71-year-old man was traveling east on Route MM in Harrison County, six miles north of Gilman City, when before 11 a.m., he saw an animal in the roadway. His motorcycle then went off the south side of the roadway, resulting in his partial ejection from the vehicle. The man and his vehicle then skidded to a stop. He was flown to a St Joseph hospital. Troopers say the man had the proper safety gear on at the time of the crash.
