The Concordia Board of Aldermen took action to remove restrictions and allow open containers on the premises of the City Lake during its meeting on Tuesday, September 2.
The ordinance amends the City Code to remove the City Lake property from the list of Public Places, allowing open containers on the premises. City Administrator Dale Klussman says that state laws are still in effect on the property, especially on the roadways around the lake.
The board then tabled action on a bill to establish procedures and regulations for Special Event Permits. Klussman discusses some of the regulations the board is considering.

The board decided to table any action on the bill until the next meeting.
In other news, the board is holding a special meeting and public hearing on Monday, September 29, regarding the proposed 2025-2026 budget. The hearing gets underway at 5:45 p.m.
