The Sweet Springs Board of Education held a public hearing to review the district’s tax rate for the 2025-2026 school year prior to its August 28th meeting.

Superintendent Lori Price presented information on the tax rate, which was set at $4.0399 per $100 assessed valuation. The rate includes $3.0070 going towards the Incidental Fund, and $1.0329 going to Debt Service.

The board approved the tax rate as presented with full support from the board.

Also during the meeting, the board approved a bid from Waters and Sons Excavation, LLC for baseball field repairs.

The Board of Education also approved all consent agenda items, which included an agreement with Marshall Public Schools for vocational education at the Saline County Career Center.
