The Mid-Day Optimist Club in Marshall is hosting is annual Jim Gilpin Memorial Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, September 13.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. Phyllis Rector says the derby is open for children in K-4th grade.

Rector says there will be a few fishing poles provided, courtesy of the Department of Conservation. There will also be a limited amount of bait provided.
