This weekend might be calling for temperatures jumping into the mid 90s, but in less than 90 days, it’ll be Santa’s reindeer jumping into the sky as holiday festivities pick up.

The Marshall Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the return of Christmas in Marshall, scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 6. Chamber executive director Rachel Hayworth says the board recently approved the purchase of new Christmas lights.

Hayworth credits the leadership of chamber president Lauren Reyes and the willingness of multiple stakeholders for making the purchase possible.

Hayworth encourages area businesses to plan ahead for Christmas in Marshall by preparing their decorations, and to also take part in this fall’s Shop Local campaign.
