Discussions continue between Norborne and Hardin-Central schools on whether to expand their athletic co-op to the track.

The Norborne R-VIII School Board received an update on the proposal during their board of education meeting last week. Supt. Jennifer Courtney says the two districts are still working out the details, with the hope to have a new program up and running this spring.

Also last week, Norborne’s school board voted to allow eighth graders to join one of their competitive programs.

The board also set the graduation date as May 10, 2026. They also agreed to not have classes Tuesday, March 24, as Norborne will again host the CLAA High School Scholar Bowl tournament beginning at 8:30 a.m. Courtney notes that Homecoming for Norborne will be Oct. 3, when Norborne/Hardin-Central host Slater/Malta Bend.
