The Brunswick City Council received updates at Tuesday night’s meeting on work to upgrade the city’s wastewater treatment system.

City Clerk Sarah Clubine tells KMMO News that crews have completed work on pump stations one and two, and have just started work on station three, with a turnaround of two to three weeks expected. Clubine adds that contractors are continuing to complete point repairs on the system citywide.

Also Tuesday night, the council learned of an upcoming meeting with Great River Engineering to finalize plans for repairs to Adams Street. The engineering meeting will take place Oct. 7, with the projected slated for next year. In additional action, the council voted to approve a series of street closures for the Brunswick Pecan Festival, set for Oct. 4.

The Brunswick City Council will next meet Oct. 21.
