No injuries were reported after a Union Pacific locomotive crashed into a grain trailer east of Malta Bend on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

A spokesperson for the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KMMO News that the collision occurred around 8:05 a.m. at the crossing with 275th Road. The train eventually came to a stop at the next crossing. The Saline County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the call.

Listener photos sent to KMMO show the trailer impaled on the front of the locomotive, while the cab remained on the ground. Crews were later able to remove the trailer debris.
