Both the Sedalia City Council and Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education will meet Monday, Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

It’s the regular monthly meeting for the Sedalia 200 school board, who will continue discussion on proposed changes to the halls of fame at Smith-Cotton High School, as well as consider this year’s inductees. The board will also review proposed donations from Advantage Metals, CSC Construction, C&B Guttering, and the Sedalia Women’s Service League. Discussion is also scheduled on a proposal to expand the district’s orchestra program to fifth grade. The Sedalia 200 school board meeting is at the Heckart Performing Arts Center at Smith-Cotton High School and will be streamed on the district’s YouTube page.

The Sedalia City Council’s meeting Monday was pushed back a week because of their participation in the annual gathering of the Missouri Municipal League. The meeting will begin with a public hearing on a proposal to issue $18.5 million of lease certificates to fund the construction of the new bowling alley, fire training center, and replacement Central Fire Station. The council will consider three bids for the next water main replacement project along South Grand Avenue, and review a proposed reconfiguration of stop signs at a pair of intersections along Reine Avenue. The Sedalia City Council meeting is at the Municipal Building on South Osage, and will be streamed on the city’s Facebook page.

Elsewhere, the Moberly City Council will meet Monday evening at 6 p.m., as will the Odessa Board of Aldermen.
