A Sedalia teenager was flown to a Columbia hospital after a one-vehicle crash early Sunday, Sept. 21 in northern Morgan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the 19-year-old man was driving north on Route JJ about three miles northeast of Florence, when at 1:30 a.m., his SUV went off the right side of the road just before the intersection with Jay Hawk Road. The driver overcorrected, causing his vehicle to cross the center line and go off the left side of the road. The SUV then overturned and crossed Jay Hawk Drive, ejecting the driver. He suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Columbia hospital. Troopers say he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
