A boil order that was in effect in the City of Slater since last Thursday has been lifted effective immediately.

The city issued the boil order after a positive monthly sample for E. coli. City Administrator Gene Griffith stated the city has submitted 18 water samples the past two days, with all of them coming back negative. The city has also been flushing the entire system at the recommendation of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Griffith says the city is still investigating the cause of the original positive test.

Griffith thanked the Slater community for their patience and cooperation during the boil order.
