The Slater School District Board of Education approved a tuition agreement with the Saline County Career Center (SCCC) during its meeting on Tuesday, September 23.

The agreement allows students enrolled in the Slater School District to also attend the Saline County Career Center in Marshall. Superintendent Terry Lorenz says there were no changes made to the agreement and reports that 16 students are attending SCCC this year.

In other news, the board reviewed a presentation from the senior class of 2026 regarding a request for their class trip in the spring. The class requested to travel to Miramar Beach in Destin, Florida for their senior class trip. Lorenz says each senior class is responsible for raising funds to go on the trip.

Lorenz says 16 students and three sponsors will go on the trip.

The Board of Education also approved the Illness Policy and the 2024-2025 Annual Secretary of the Board Report during the meeting.
