The Sedalia Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at Walmart on Friday, September26.

According to the department, personnel arrived to find a small electrical fire that had already been extinguished with a fire extinguisher. The staff had to perform a full evacuation of the facility. Crews provided fire suppression and cleared the scene early Friday afternoon. The store has since reopened.

The store is currently performing electrical upgrades and is using large generators to provide power, which is likely the cause of the fire. The department commended the store and its staff for responding to the situation.
