The City of Sedalia invites the community to join local leaders, partners, and residents for a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction on Sedalia’s newest Fire Station, a Fire Training Center, and the Memory Lanes Bowling Alley.

The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, at 601 East Broadway. The speakers at the event include Mayor Andrew Dawson, Sue Heckart, City Administrator Matthew Wirt, and representatives from the construction and architecture team.

The Sedalia Fire Department’s new station and training center will expand coverage and improve response times while providing a dedicated facility for firefighter training. The new bowling alley, Memory Lanes, will add a family-friendly entertainment venue to the community as part of Sedalia Parks & Recreation’s ongoing improvements. The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony. Those wishing to attend the ceremony are encouraged to enter from 5th Street.
