The Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education continued discussions on the district’s Hall of Fame, voting to consolidate the three existing Hall of Fame categories into a single Smith-Cotton Hall of Fame.

The current Hall of Fame has separate categories for athletics, academics, and activities. Superintendent Todd Fraley explains the board voted to merge the three together to allow for less confusion for alumni who may overlap between the categories.

Another change the board made to the Hall of Fame was to make alumni of Sedalia High School eligible for inclusion.

The board also recognized three new inductees into the Hall of Fame. Former football coach Mark Johnson, former golf coach Barry Doty, and Dr. George Richard Thompson III will all be honored at Smith-Cotton’s Court warming game in February 2026.
