The Marshall Police Department responded to a collision Monday, Sept. 29 involving a pedestrian attempting to cross a street near downtown Marshall.
According to a department spokesperson, the collision occurred at 7:20 a.m. on West Jackson Street near South English. When first responders arrived, they found an adult lying on the street with significant injuries. The person was taken to a nearby hospital by Saline County Ambulance. The spokesperson adds that the driver of a sedan told police that they were driving east on Jackson Street and, because the sun was directly in their eyes, did not see the pedestrian walking between parked vehicles.
