
The Missouri Valley College women’s soccer maintained its place in the top ten with the release of the latest NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
The Vikings stayed at the No. 6 spot for the second-straight coaches’ poll after finishing with a 3-0-1 record in the latest ratings period. Missouri Valley had wins over Culver-Stockton, William Woods, and Graceland. The team also played then-No. 18 Central Methodist (Mo.) to a 2-2 tie on the road.
Two other programs from the Heart of America Athletic Conference join Missouri Valley in the coaches’ poll. Central Methodist moved up to No. 16 and MidAmerica Nazarene fell to No. 22. The Vikings host MidAmerica Nazarene, Oct. 15.
The Vikings are 1-0-2 against teams currently ranked in the coaches’ poll. The win came against No. 8 Oklahoma Wesleyan, 1-0, and the ties were against No. 4 Cumberlands, 2-2, and No. 16 Central Methodist last week. The women’s soccer team has now been Nationally ranked in 49 of the previous 51 coaches’ polls, dating back to the 2020 season.
Missouri Valley is 7-0-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the Heart. Up next, is a home contest against Park Saturday evening. The women’s game starts at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m., inside Volney C. Ashford Stadium.
