The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin the first of four upcoming bridge deck replacements Monday, Oct. 13, starting with the closure of a bridge in Livingston County.
MoDOT has contracted with E&C Bridge to complete deck replacement projects in Carroll, Chariton and Livingston counties. The first project will begin Oct. 13 on Route D south of Ludlow over the Shoal Creek Drainage Ditch, resulting in the bridge’s closure until early December. Crews will also begin work in Carroll County on Oct. 20 on the Route JJ bridge over the West Fork of the Wakenda Creek, northwest of Norborne.
E&C Bridge will also complete deck replacements next spring on the Route B bridge over Sambo Creek in Carroll County, as well as the Route KK bridge over the Little Chariton River in Chariton County. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
This story was edited Oct. 3, 2025 to reflect the correct date the Route D bridge will close.
