Marshall Municipal Utilities is requesting bids to install conduit at the southeast corner of the Marshall Junction.
The Board of Public Works approved a motion to request bids during its Wednesday morning meeting. MMU is planning to install fiber at the junction for the Visitor Center and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects. Approximately two miles of conduit will need to be installed. MMU is expecting reimbursement from Saline County and the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation for this project.
The board also plans request approval from the Marshall City Council to authorize MMU to enter into an agreement with Burns and McDonnell and move into Phase 1 of the Filter Building Project. This project includes replacing belt filter presses, the sludge conveyor, and four sludge pumps. Burns and McDonnell has provided a task order to begin a study on MMU’s sludge handling system, which is the first phase of this project. The cost of the study is $57,000.
The Marshall City Council next meets Tuesday, October 7.
