The Saline County Clerk’s office completed their required test Thursday afternoon of equipment that will tabulate the votes in Tuesday’s special election for the Sweet Springs Road District.
Election judges Pam LaFrenz and Gunner Ussery were sworn in by county clerk Brittni Burton prior to feeding the three test ballots. Burton tells KMMO News that as of early this (Thursday) afternoon, four absentee ballots have been cast, while another three mail-in ballots have been received.
Sweet Springs voters are being asked to renew the road district’s levee of 30-point-five-two cents per 100 dollars of assessed valuation for another four years. They also have a seat on the district’s commission to fill, with Donald Vogelsmeier the only printed name on the ballot.
Voters can still cast their ballots in advance through Monday in the Saline County Clerk’s office, including this Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. Both precincts in the district will cast their ballots at the Sweet Springs City Hall on Tuesday, October 7th from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.
