The City of Knob Noster has announced that its Municipal Court system will be transferring to the Johnson County Associate Division effective December 1, 2025.

City Administrator Cameron Jackson says he started to consider this change after totaling up the operating cost of the court each year.

Johnson County Circuit Court will be managing and hosting the city’s court at no cost to Knob Noster. Jackson says the city will save between $60,000-$80,000 per year with the change. The city plans to use that money for community improvement projects. Jackson says the city will also try to make use of the former courtroom space.

Knob Noster Municipal Court will still hold court on October 28 and November 18 at 5:30 p.m. Residents with questions or concerns are urged to contact the city at 660-563-2595.
