A Moberly man incurred moderate injury after his Jeep went off the side of an area highway Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 23-year-old man was distracted on his cell phone as the Jeep approached a curve along the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 63 four miles south of Excello. Troopers say that at around 6:35 p.m., the driver failed to negotiate the curve and went off the left side of the road before overturning. The driver was taken by private conveyance to a nearby hospital.
