The Saline County Salary Commission authorized a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) increase of three percent for all county employees and county officials during its meeting on Wednesday, October 15.
The COLA increase was one of a few options the commission considered, along with a salary increased based on assessed value increases. County Collector and Salary Commission Chair Cindi Sims says the commission ultimately decided to move forward with a three percent COLA, which is what they also approved last year.
Sims explained that the commission decided to go with a more conservative COLA increase due to the uncertainty surrounding next year’s tax collection figures in the county.
The COLA increase is effective January 1, 2026.
