Born on January 24, 1969, in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of the late Walter J. Heins and Katherine M. McClelland Heins. Craig was a graduate of Lafayette County C-1 High School in Higginsville, and he was lifelong resident of the Higginsville/Mayview area. On March 19, 2005, he married Leesha Renee Driskell who survives of the home. He loved farming and repairing machinery. He taught his son everything he knew about being a farmer. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends, fire-pit nights, going to auctions, and helping wherever and whomever he could help. He loved serving God and others and would do anything for someone in need. He was a proud dad and supported Jace in his school, church, 4-H and sports activities. Craig was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and served as a church elder at a previous church. He was also a member of the MFA Board. His last selfless act was to donate organs and tissue to help others in need.
In addition to his wife, Leesha, Craig is survived by his son, Jace, 13, of the home; one sister, Karen (Joel) Sipes of Topeka, KS; one niece, Lesley (Jason) Revils of Topeka, KS; cousins, Stephanie (Gary) Wynn, Webster, FL, and Damon Hall of Cole Camp, MO; Leesha’s parents, Mike and Sharon Driskell of Raytown, MO; sister-in-law, Lori (Aaron) Diffenderfer of Overland Park, KS; nieces, Sienna and Braelyn; nephew, Camden; and several close friends who were like family.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents; and great-niece, Rilee Revils.
