The next addition to the New Franklin R-I Schools campus will begin soon, thanks to the generosity of the district’s Parents and Teachers Organization.

Supt. Benji Dorson says the group provided an update at the Oct. 15 school board meeting on plans for a new outdoor classroom space near the district’s ballfield.

Dorson says he anticipates the new structure to go up within the next month, weather permitting.

Also last Wednesday, the New Franklin board of education received a presentation on the district’s assessment scores, and approved the Annual Secretary of the Board Report. The board also approved the district’s local compliance plan and bus routes for the year, which total four regular routes and one special route.
