A Kansas City woman and young girl in her vehicle were both taken to an area hospital after a two-vehicle collision Sunday, Oct. 19 in Slater.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 38-year-old woman was driving her sedan west on Route 240 through Slater when just after 2 p.m., an SUV driven by an 83-year-old Slater woman struck the passenger side when attempting to enter the highway from Route C. Troopers described the Kansas City woman’s injuries as serious, while a four-year-old in her car was listed as receiving moderate injuries. The two sought treatment at a Marshall hospital, while no injuries were reported for the Slater woman. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
