The Santa Fe R-X School District is beginning the interview process as it continues its search for its next superintendent.

The Board of Education began its Monday (Oct. 20) meeting with a closed session to review applications to fill the position. Current Superintendent Derek Lark announced his plans to retire during the board’s September meeting, with his last day set for June 30, 2026. The board reviewed ten total application during the closed session. Lark says the board will now focus on interviewing its top candidates on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

The board expects to announce the hiring of its next Superintendent during its next meeting in November.

The board then went into open session to discuss the Missouri School Improvement Plan (MSIP) review.

 

The Board of Education also reviewed its Professional Development Program, Technology Plan, and Transportation Program at the meeting.
