The Carrollton Town Council will look into drafting an agreement with My Hometown for a proposed green space on the Carrollton Square.
Mayor Keith Higgins tells KMMO News that the group brought the proposal forward during the Monday, Oct. 20 town council meeting, and that the council is willing to go forward with the arrangement. Also Monday night, the council approved a conditional use permit for Pat Jackson to operate a short-term rental for a property recently purchased on the 200 block of North Virginia.
The council also gave their blessing to an effort by Tarah Hilbrenner to solicit pledged for the city’s half of a 50/50 matching grant that would cover improvements to the city’s tennis courts. Higgins says the application for the land and water conservation grant is due in mid-November, with the city expected to show that there is enough local interest for the project to move forward.
Council members tabled two proposed ordinances for further research, including one concerning temporary housing. The council also kept on hold discussions concerning a property on the 100 block of South Maple.
The Carrollton Town Council will next meet Monday, Nov. 3.
