Enrollment at State Fair Community College now totals just over 4500 students, a six-percent increase from last year.
Figures released Thursday, Oct. 23 by the college show an increase in 260 students for the Fall 2025 semester, to a total of 4502 students across SFCC’s campus locations. Speaking to KMMO News at the beginning of the semester, SFCC President Dr Brent Bates said he was anticipating continued growth after a strong increase in the previous school year.
Bates added that enrollment growth has been stronger at SFCC’s satellite campuses.
The enrollment boost is supported by a 16-percent jump in the number of first-time freshmen compared to a year ago. Of the 1175 freshmen enrolled, 62 percent of them are first-generation students.
SFCC also reports growth in credit hours enrolled by 8.5 percent. The Clinton campus reported a 14-percent increase while Jefferson City saw an 8.5 percent increase. Online enrollment saw a 12-percent increase in credit hours, along with an eight-percent increase in the number of students taking classes online and 15 percent more students taking both online and in-seat classes.
