
Joyce A. Harwood, 76, of Slater, died Saturday, October 25, 2025 at her son’s home in Marshall.
Graveside services will be Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Slater City Cemetery, with Terry Jordan officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 10:45 at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to Slater City Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Born July 12, 1949 in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Anna Marie Shepard Butcher.
She is survived by a son, Ronnie Narron and his wife Stacey of Marshall; five grandchildren; a brother, Larry Butcher and his wife Judy of Slater; her companion, Wayne Ballew of Slater; and her beloved dog Little Bit. She was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Butcher.
Ms. Harwood was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slater. She had worked at the Slater News Rustler in the 1970s and 1980s; later working at the Marshall Democrat News; before working at Cameron Mutual Insurance in Cameron, Missouri. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
