Gene Foose, 81, of Blackburn, MO, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial with military rites will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blackburn.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.  Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born October 18, 1944, in Waverly, he was the son of the late Nelson Thomas Foose and Adell Cartee Foose.  On February 24, 1988, he married Linda Kercher who survives of the home.  Gene was drafted into the United States Army in 1968, serving in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1970.  He had lived in the Blackburn area most of his life where he owned and operated Gene’s Bulldozing.  Gene was a life member of Tieman-Blackburn American Legion Post 478 and a member of Corder V.F.W. Post 4288.

In addition to his wife, Linda; he is survived by two children, Tony Foose (Rhonda) of Odessa and David Foose (Laura) of Kansas City; several grandchildren, including three local grandchildren, Daniel Foose (Carina), Sara Foose and Elizabeth Foose; two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Fallon Foose; one brother, Jim Foose (Kay) of Higginsville; one sister, Vickie Foose of Marshall; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy Foose; one sister, Diane Taylor; and one brother, Steve Foose.
