
Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams at State Fair Community College are celebrating their fourth consecutive Region 16 titles, claiming top team and individual prizes in the Division II contest Saturday, Oct. 25 in Festus.
The Roadrunner men were the first six across the finish line at Larry G Crites Memorial Park, with Carter Moss completing the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:55.31. Hayden Krentz was second with a time of 29:21.11. John Kuntze, Adam Broekemeier, Ryland Woolery, and Owen Weatherspoon crossed the line for State Fair ahead of the competition, while teammates Sam Tagtmeyer, Noah Sill, and Juan Matacua-Ubaldo all finished in the top 15.
The Roadrunner women dominated their five-kilometer course, with Maryn Clausing winning the race in a time of 21:03.78. The next four runners across the finish line were all Roadrunners: Alexis Riddle, Emily Trelow, Libbey Baadsgaard, and Tajel McDaniel.
Both teams qualified their top five runners for the NJCAA National Championships, set for Nov. 8 in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
