An error on listed agenda items at last week’s session resulted in the Saline County Commission needing to re-enact an order Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Joey McLiney of McLiney and Associates addressed commissioners Monte Fenner and Becky Plattner at Tuesday’s meeting, explaining that the commission order passed last Wednesday was not properly included on the posted agenda for that session. The posted agenda had listed McLiney as a guest to discuss the lease purchase agreement with Wood and Huston Bank to cover the purchase of equipment needed for the wastewater treatment plant at the Marshall Junction, but not the proposed order. McLiney said he was made aware of the issue Friday, and requested Tuesday’s meeting to correct the process.
Commissioners Plattner and Fenner then voted to re-adopt the order, entering the county into the agreement that will span ten years. Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden was absent. McLiney says the equipment’s costs will total about $1.6 million. The lease purchase agreement was the only item acted upon during Tuesday morning’s special session.
