The next bridge set for replacement in the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Northwest Bridge Bundle will close next month.
MoDOT has announced that the Route KK bridge over Puzzle Creek, outside Keytesville, will close Nov. 10. The current bridge opened in 1953 and handles about 188 vehicles per day. The project to replace the bridge is expected to last until mid-March.
The Puzzle Creek bridge is among 31 spans in North Central Missouri listed in poor condition that will be replaced or rehabilitated over a two-year span. The team of Horner & Shiffrin and Capital Paving are the design-build team handling the bridges, including 12 in Chariton County alone. Seven of the spans are complete, while a replacement of the Route PP bridge over Middle Fork Chariton River is underway.
Additional details about the Northwest Bridge Bundle are available on the MoDOT website.
