A number of cities and area chambers of commerce are hosting trick-or-treat events to mark Halloween on Friday, Oct. 31, with one event taking place Thursday.

Thursday evening, the Marshall Chamber of Commerce will have its annual Trick or Treat on the Square, taking place from 5 to 7 p.m.

Most cities will have their event on the holiday itself, including the City of Sedalia. City Hall will host its annual Halloween at the Hall on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., where guests can enjoy games, candy stations, music, food trucks, and balloon twisters. Nearby downtown businesses will also take part in the trick-or-treat.

Also Friday, Moberly Parks and Recreation will have its annual Trick-Or-Treat Trail from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Businesses along Reed Street in the Depot District welcome costumed children ten and under to take part.

Downtown Concordia will be decked out for trick-or-treaters Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., with trick-or-treaters proceeding along Main Street. The City of Brunswick will have its Trunk Or Treat along S. Madison Street on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., with hot dogs and chips served to go with the candy. Participating trunks can take part in a decoration contest.

Downtown Fayette will host its Trunk or Treat on Friday evening from 5 to 6:30 p.m. around the courthouse square.  The event had initially been scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26, but was postponed because of weather.  Food trucks will open around 4:30 p.m.
