
Pettis County deputies arrested a Sedalia woman after discovering illegal drugs at her residence during a search on Wednesday, October 29.
According to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to an area residence in reference to narcotics information received by authorities. The information stated that a female subject identified as Maria Aurora Resendiz-Hernandez had been making trips out of state and bringing back methamphetamine.
Authorities made contact with Resendiz-Hernandez, who gave consent to search her home. Deputies would find baggies containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine hidden in her bedroom. Deputies believe Resendiz-Hernandez was planning to sell the substance based off the way it was packaged. Deputies also noted two children also lived inside the residence.
Resendiz-Hernandez has been charged with felonies for delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
An arraignment hearing was held Friday morning at Pettis County Circuit Court. No other court dates have been set at this time.
