23 new bricks honoring Saline County’s veterans were installed Saturday, Nov. 1 on the courthouse square in Marshall.

Charlie Guthrie tells KMMO News that a team of current and former county employees installed the bricks on the south side of the square. Residents can purchase a brick to honor eligible veterans for their service by picking up an application from the offices of the county treasurer, county recorder, or county collector. Guthrie adds that the next bricks will be installed prior to Memorial Day next May.

The 23 new bricks were installed ahead of the annual Veterans Day ceremony, which the Malta Bend Memorial American Legion Post 558 will host next Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. on the courthouse square.
