The Missouri Department of Transportation is closing the Carroll County Route B bridge over Sambo Creek, south of Wakenda, this month as part of a series of bridge deck replacement projects in Carroll, Chariton and Livingston counties.

The Route B bridge is expected to be closed beginning November 17 through mid-January 2026. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route around the closure.

Two other bridges attached with this project are already closed, including the Livingston County Route D bridge over the Shoal Creek Drainage Ditch and the Carroll County Route JJ bridge over West Fork Wakenda Creek. Both bridges are scheduled to reopen in December 2025.

The Chariton County Route KK over the Little Chariton River, north of Glasgow is expected to close in Spring 2025.

More information about the project can be found here. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
